Spring Job and Skills Fair
Employment vacancies, career advice and training options will all be showcased at our spring Blaby District Council Job and Skills Fair.
The event takes place on Wednesday 1 April from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Council offices on Desford Road, Narborough.
It’s a great chance for anyone looking for a new challenge, job advice or training information. Attendees can connect with employers and organisations who have vacancies to fill, can offer career guidance or provide upskilling options.
Members of our HR team will chat about opportunities within the Council while representatives from construction recruiter Gement will highlight diverse openings in the building trade.
There will also be details of employment routes into the armed forces, emergency services and civil service, alongside local roles in care, retail and facilities management.
For people who face barriers in finding and keeping a job there will be advisors from Connect to Work, a new, extended employment support initiative.
The government funded programme provides tailored support for people with health and lifestyle challenges to gain and maintain suitable employment.
Marc Greenwood, Blaby District Council Director for Place, said: "An ongoing priority is encouraging a thriving District economy and an important part of that is to support local jobs for local people.
"Our spring Job and Skills Fair is a great way to highlight local recruitment, as well as training and education opportunities, contributing towards promoting a vibrant and fulfilled workforce."
