Planning appeal dates
An appeal against Blaby District Council’s rejection of plans to build up to 200 homes on Blaby Golf Centre will take place over several days in May.
Developers, Hallam Land Management (HLM), are seeking to overturn the refusal of outline planning permission for the scheme, made by the Council’s planning committee in July 2025.
The refusal had been recommended by planning officers who argued the loss of 16 hectares of Green Wedge was “considered to be inherently harmful”, while proposals to relocate other well-used businesses at the centre, including a dance school, gym, taxi rank, boutique and beauty salon, were inadequate.
The appeal, to be heard before a government Planning Inspectorate official, has been scheduled for nine days and will take place in the Council Chamber at Blaby District Council's offices on Desford Road, Narborough.
It will start at 10am on Wednesday 13 May and continue on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May, then the following Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 20, 21 and 22 May. It may continue further on Wednesday and Thursday, 27 and 28 May.
Members of the public are free to attend and interested parties will already have been contacted by the Planning Inspectorate. The appeal will also be live streamed daily via the Council’s You Tube channel: Blaby District Council - YouTube
