Job and Skills Fair July 2025

Sharpen your job-hunting skills with specialised workshops at Blaby District Council’s final Job and Skills Fair of 2025.

The brand-new initiative offers on-the-spot, tailored tips on CV writing, interview techniques and application advice.

Visitors will be able to drop by the workshops throughout the event which runs from 2pm to 4.30pm at the Council offices in Narborough on Wednesday 24 September.

The afternoon will also feature local and national employers, showcasing current job opportunities as well as education and training providers, plus employment support organisations.

Companies as diverse as transport providers and hospitality services to beauty product professionals will be on hand to chat about their openings.

Council officers will be ready to welcome and signpost while also highlighting the vacancies available at the authority. These include an apprentice HGV vehicle technician at the Council depot in Whetstone, along with opportunities to join our teams preparing for the introduction of the new food waste collection service starting next year.

Councillor Nick Chapman, Blaby District Council Portfolio Holder for Community and Economic Development, said: "Our final Job and Skills Fair is the perfect opportunity for people to find their first job, their next career move or pick up information on employment or training. Our new workshop is ideal for those who are after immediate advice to help them in their job hunt. We hope this service will prove popular as we are trialling it for the first time."

The offices are easy to get to via car or public transport with parking on site, Narborough train station just round the corner and local bus routes running nearby.
