Former BMX track works update

Former BMX Track At Huncote

A project to continue the ongoing site management and rewilding of the field and former BMX track at the rear of Huncote Leisure Centre will launch next week.

Work will start from Monday 4 August to establish the site as a public green space and continue required site gas management. Work is expected to last up to a week.

Initial actions will see new monitoring and gas venting equipment installed under the surface of the original track as well as alteration works.

We ask that people stay away from the area while the work takes place as ground levels will be irregular and heavy machinery and equipment will be on site. Additional fencing will be installed to prevent unauthorised access during the work. The footpath will remain open although the route may be temporarily changed to ensure the safety of users.

Future works may include various planting schemes as part of the rewilding. We are committed to the continued responsible management and monitoring of the site. Maintaining safety is our key priority for future users of the space and the surrounding area.

If you have questions or concerns about the contractors on site please email: environmental.services@blaby.gov.uk
