Appeals lodged over Sycamore Street site
Appeals have been lodged against both the refusal of planning permission and subsequent notice of enforcement action on land to the east of Sycamore Street in Blaby village.
The appeals have been submitted to the government’s Planning Inspectorate (PINS).
Blaby District Council has been notified of the submissions and is awaiting further information on the appeal route and timescales.
Once the process is officially announced, all interested parties will be able to comment on the appeal application directly with PINS.
The appeals follow the rejection of a retrospective planning application to change the use of the land to allow for the standing of a static caravan and erection of gates.
Blaby District Council planning committee members made the decision at a meeting on 27 November 2025.
The planning refusal resulted in the serving of an enforcement notice. This required the land to cease to be used as a residential caravan site, all mobile homes, vehicles and other equipment be removed, and the site returned to its former condition.
The enforcement notice came into effect on 31 December which was also the deadline for the site occupants to appeal to PINS.
Further details will be shared on the appeals when made available by PINS.
