Pay Your Council Tax

You can choose to pay your Council Tax over 10 or 12 months. We will automatically set your payments over 10 months unless you tell us otherwise.

Direct Debit

You can set up, amend or cancel a direct debit using the online form below. If you are setting up a Direct Debit, payments for Council Tax can be debited from your nominated bank account on either the 1st, 15th or 28th of the month.

Pay online

You can also pay your Council Tax online using a debit or credit card. You can download a guide on how to make a payment if you need help.

Automated payment line

Payment can be accepted by debit and credit card on a 24-hour automated payment line.

Please telephone 0116 272 7722 and have your debit/credit card to hand. You will need to quote the following information:

  • Name and Address
  • Blaby District Council Account Reference Number
  • Telephone Number
  • Card Type
  • Cardholder’s Name
  • Cardholder’s Account Number
  • Card “Valid From” date and “Expiry” date
  • Issue Number (if applicable)
  • Security number (Three digits on the reverse side of your card)
  • Amount to pay

Once the process is completed you will get a reference number as proof of payment. This should be quoted if contacting us relating to the payment, together with the reference of the account being paid.

This call should take around two minutes.

PayPoint Outlets

You can pay at your local PayPoint outlet using the barcode on your bill. This is scanned and you will be given a receipt. PayPoint outlets usually only accept cash. There are various PayPoint outlets across the district. Please note that it can take up to six working days before your payment will reach your account.
