2026-27 budget consultation

Each year we run a public consultation on our budget proposals, including any potential rise in Council Tax. The Budget Consultation for fiscal year 2026-27 took place between Tuesday 20 January and Monday 16 February 2026. 

While a significant number of respondents (22.98%) were strongly opposed to a 2.99% increase in Council Tax there was general support for the rise.

Those who replied in support of the increase amounted to 47.82% of respondents while those against were 40.99%.
