Could you go green and save money?

Leaf In A Lightbulb

The latest round of the Blaby District Council-backed Big Community Switch is now open for people to register their interest in a fresh energy auction.

Registration launched earlier this month and ends on Tuesday 9 January 2024, giving residents ample time to check out the scheme.

Run through collective energy switching experts iChoosr, it works on the basis that the more people who register their interest in the auction, the better the deal energy suppliers may offer.

Offers come from reputable, trusted suppliers and are 100% renewable energy tariffs, helping households go green and potentially save money in the process.

The auction takes place in January with personal offers sent out to those who have registered from Monday 22 January.

There is no obligation to take the offer if it is not right for the household. The deadline for accepting offers is Friday 8 March.

With energy costs rising the Big Community Switch has a clear mission to help households find better green energy deals.

Switching energy suppliers can be a daunting task for some. Big Community Switch helps demystify this process for households and offers guidance and support every step of the way.

The focus on 100% renewable energy also ensures the scheme helps towards households cutting their carbon emissions and the District achieving its ambition to be Net Zero by 2050.

Since 2020 the scheme has achieved annual carbon savings of 575 tonnes and realised savings of £111,701.
