We're aware of issues with the printing of some garden waste stickers. If you have received a garden waste sticker with an incomplete address, it is still valid and your garden waste bin will be emptied.

Volunteer Litter Picking

By becoming a volunteer litter picker, you can help make Blaby District a cleaner and more attractive place to live, work, and visit. Any time you can give to help keep your local area tidy and litter-free is hugely appreciated by Blaby District Council and the community, and we want to support volunteers in any way that we can.

Blaby District Council was able to secure central government funding to assist with a community litter picking scheme and we have kits available which contain:

  • Hi-visibility vests
  • Litter pickers
  • Bag rings
  • Collection bags

Once a litter pick has taken place, you can contact Blaby District Council to collect the waste at a suitable time and place.

There are numerous health benefits to become a volunteer litter picker including a chance to get fresh air, walking and improving the environment of the area you live in.

Individuals are welcome to apply for a kit(s) by using the contact us form below. Please keep us informed of any litter picking events so that we can help to publicise these further.

If you would like any further information about how you can help to improve our local environment, please visit Keep Britain Tidy.
