Planning Enforcement Notices

Planning Enforcement Notices control development and changes of use which have been carried out without planning permission, and are considered to be causing immediate and significant harm to the local area or immediate surroundings.

A notice is usually issued to:

  • Cease or prevent an unauthorised change of use
  • Request the removal of unauthorised building works
  • Require development to be altered to make it more acceptable in planning terms

Anyone who receives an enforcement notice can appeal to the Planning Inspectorate. Guidance about appealing an enforcement notice can be found on the Planning Portal website.

A list of all Planning Enforcement notices is available to view and download below. Original copies are available to be viewed at the Council's Offices on request.
