Social and Community

Socialising is proven to improve wellbeing and help motivate you to get active. Therefore we look to provide opportunities and raise awareness of community focused activities where you can meet new people and socialise on a regular basis.

Walking is a great way to get active and visit places across the district you didn't realise existed.
Every week volunteers lead walks across two locations in the district. The routes vary each week and it is a great chance to meet new people.
Both walks last around an hour and are a slow to medium pace.
The walks take place at
Stoney Stanton Memorial Fields - Tuesdays - 11am
Glen Parva Dorothy Avenue Playing Fields - Wednesdays - 10.30am
If you are interested in attending a walk simply turn up on the day or you can contact us using the form below.

Running is a great way to get active and improve stamina, however sometimes it can be difficult to motivate yourself to run on your own. Therefore we work in partnership with Huncote Harriers Running Club to provide a social opportunity to take part in a variety of weekly runs ranging from Couch to 5k through to club sessions.
For more information or to enquire about attending a session please visit the Huncote Harriers website which can be found below.

Cycling is a great way to get active alongside getting to see the wonderful sites the district has to offer.

It is also a great way to commute whether it be to and from school or work.

To find out what routes are available near you visit the Choose How You Move Website.

JUST Get Involved

JUST is an initiative designed to provide opportunities for women to access subsidised sports and activities.

Working with fully qualified local instructors we are able to provide discount activities as well as incentives such as T shirts, water bottles and fitness watches.

To find out more about JUST or to see what activities are going on near you visit the website which can be found below.

Sports Clubs

Sports Clubs are at the forefront of our community and are what helps bring friends and families together. If you are interested in joining a new club but unsure what is available, visit the Sport Club Directory as this will be able to identify clubs close to you alongside more information about what they can offer and who you can contact.

As well as the directory the Health and Leisure Services Team can provide support around joining a new club and finding the best club for you.
