Warm Spaces

There are currently no Warm Spaces events running.

Warm spaces are places in the local community where people can gather in a warm, safe, welcoming space and be treated with respect and dignity. Warm spaces have been set up to support people facing hardship during the cost of living crisis and can also provide a place for company and friendship.

Blaby District Council have allocated funding to support local groups to either set up as a warm space or expand existing sessions to offer a warm space environment. Each group can apply for up to £350 and this can cover running costs, refreshments etc. This funding was widely promoted and since mid-November the council have funded the following groups (days and times of groups vary):

  • Blaby Baptist Church
  • Braunstone Civic Centre
  • Cosby Community Library
  • LFE Community Library
  • Littlethorpe Village Hall
  • Kirby Muxloe Library & Community Hub
  • Lubbesthorpe Hub
  • St Andrews Church, Countesthorpe (The Bridge)

Retail store Next have kindly donated bedding, duvets, clothing and this has been taken by community development and residents support staff to these warm space venues to further help support residents and their families.
