The Blaby District Business Board is a business led partnership of local employers working closely with Blaby District Council to make it easier for businesses to grow, hire and invest in the district. The Board champions local enterprise and helps to ensure that businesses have the support, clarity and opportunities they need to thrive.

Connecting Businesses Across the District
The Blaby District Business Board brings together local business leaders and Blaby District Council to strengthen business growth. The Board focuses on improving access to support, sharing insight from the local business community and helping businesses navigate opportunities across the district and wider region.
Its work is grounded in delivery; connecting businesses with the right support, building stronger networks and improving the visibility of the Council’s offer.
What the Board is Working On
Improving Access to Business Support
The Board is helping the Council enhance its online business pages so that businesses can quickly find information on:
- Business support and growth advice
- Work and skills support
- Funding and grant opportunities
- Procurement guidance
- Events and networking opportunities
Supporting Micro Businesses
Micro businesses account for more than 90% of all businesses in the district. To support them, the Board is backing the launch of a pilot micro‑business grant scheme.
The pilot will help small businesses with:
- Business growth and innovation
- Decarbonisation improvements
- Shopfront and premises upgrades
The scheme launches in April 2026 with a £25,000 seed fund to test demand and measure impact.
Strengthening Business Engagement
To build a more connected business community, the Board is:
- Working to help drive larger attendances at the district’s Business Breakfast events
- Developing a LinkedIn page to share updates, opportunities and news
- Improving the visibility of business success stories and case studies
- Gathering direct feedback from businesses to shape future support
