Crisis and Resilience Fund - Living Cost

Short-term support is available for Leicestershire residents who are facing a sudden financial crisis.

If you live in Blaby District and are struggling to pay for essential living costs, you may be able to get help through the Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF). The fund is provided by the UK Government.

Please note: Support for living costs is managed by Leicestershire County Council. Support for housing costs is managed separately by Blaby District Council and replaces Discretionary Housing Payments.

About the fund

The CRF is for households who have been affected by a one-off financial crisis. It is not intended to cover ongoing low income or long-term financial difficulties where there has not been a specific crisis event.

The fund is designed to:

  • Help households manage an immediate crisis
  • Provide access to essential items or services where support is needed
  • Help residents find longer-term advice and support, where this would be useful

Applications are looked at individually, based on each household’s circumstances. Applying to the fund will not affect your benefit status.

What support is available?

If you are eligible, the fund may be able to help with urgent living costs, including:

  • Food and essential household items
  • Energy and utility costs
  • Emergency living expenses
  • Support after an unexpected financial difficulty

If your main concern is housing costs, please visit the dedicated Blaby District Council webpage for the Housing Element of the fund.
