Benefit Cap

The benefit cap ensures that households not in work do not receive more in benefits than the average working family after tax and national insurance.

If your benefit has been capped you may have to use money from your other benefits to pay some or all of your rent.

Visit the webpage to find out more about the Benefit Cap, including:

  • Benefits affected by the cap
  • When you're not affected
  • Benefit cap amounts
