Information about the Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions SPD Consultation

Blaby District Council are consulting on a new Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). We want to hear the views of residents, community groups, businesses and others with an interest in the District.

This SPD is intended to replace the existing Planning Obligations and Developer Contributions SPD (2010). It sets out how Blaby District Council will ensure that new development contributes to the necessary provision of services, facilities, and infrastructure.

What are SPDs?

SPDs cannot introduce new planning policies and instead their purpose is to provide more detailed guidance and advice in relation to existing planning policies. Blaby District Council SPDs should therefore be read together with the adopted Blaby District Local Plan Core Strategy (2013) and the adopted Blaby District Local Plan Delivery Development Plan Document (2019).
