BB19 Youth Project

The BB19 Youth Project provides detached youth work within Blaby District

Detached youth work is categorised as street-based youth work, which operates without the use of a venue and takes place where young people choose to meet, for example, parks, shops or housing estates.

The BB19 youth workers target hotspot areas to engage with young people, working with them to an agreed outcome by discussing the issues that are important to them in an informal setting. This may include drug and alcohol issues or sexual health education amongst others.

By delivering youth work in this way, it is possible to engage with the hard to reach groups that wouldn't normally attend a youth club and aims to decrease the risk of anti-social behaviour in that area.
