Outdoor theatre experience at Fosse Meadows

Fosse Meadows pathway

See tales from Beatrix Potter and William Shakespeare come to life in a one-of-a-kind family theatre experience at Fosse Meadows Country Park coming this summer break.

Theatre in the Park brings the magic of the theatre out into the open air, with two special performances to choose from running on Thursday 21 July.

A brand-new adaptation of two of Beatrix Potter’s most popular stories - The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny - will begin at 2.30pm, the perfect event for families during the summer break. Tickets for this production are £12 per adult and £8 per child.

William Shakespeare’s classic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, will then begin at 6.30pm, running into the evening. Tickets are just £15 for an adult and £10 per child.

Visitors can expect a range of local food and drink stalls, including Fosse Meadow’s very own Mason’s II Cappo Del Caffee Coffee Van. Active Arts will also be putting together activities for children to enjoy during the afternoon.

Councillor Sharon Coe, Portfolio Holder for Health, Wellbeing, Community Engagement and Business Support, said: “Theatre in the Park is an exciting new way to bring arts and culture to the district and we can’t wait to welcome people to the experience. It’s the perfect summer holiday event for the whole family.”

With tickets selling fast and a limited number available, make sure to book in as soon as possible. Find out more about each show hosted by Quantum Theatre.

Parking in Fosse Meadows’ car parks will also be free for attendees across the event day.

As this will be an outdoor event, visitors are welcome to bring along their own chairs and blankets, and dress for the weather come rain or shine.
