Find your next career move at our Job Fair

Jobseekers of all ages can find a host of opportunities on offer from firms across the area and beyond at the next Blaby District Council Job Fair.
The event takes place at the Council offices on Wednesday 28 June 2023 from 3pm to 6pm.
Meet a range of employers from ballet-shoe makers to public transport providers and find out about the host of exciting work opportunities available.
As well as hundreds of vacancies there will also be advice on training, apprenticeships and further learning – ideal for school, college and university leavers looking to weigh up their options ahead of receiving their grades.
Among those organisations promoting vacancies are:
- Freed of London Ltd who have recruited from previous job fairs and currently have vacancies at their site in Rose Way, Blaby. Freed are a leading dancewear company whose shoes have been worn by the greatest dancers since the 1920s and are still worn by leading dancers, companies, and schools worldwide. They have various trainee positions for those aged 16 and over including ballet shoe pointe makers, sewing machinists and general shoe operative
- Midlands Arriva which has more than 50 vacancies currently available, talk to their friendly and helpful team about the bus driving roles for those with a passenger carrying vehicle (PCV) licence as well as trainee bus drivers and engineering vacancies across their Leicestershire depots
With hundreds of learners leaving school, college and university this month the Job Fair will also offer valuable advice for those looking to take their first steps out of the world of mainstream education.
This may be work opportunities, training, apprenticeships or even further study or upskilling.
Councillor Terry Richardson, Leader of Blaby District Council, said: "This is the perfect time of year for any students leaving education to come to our Job Fair and see what future opportunities are available.
"And of course, as always, we will have a range of businesses looking to attract new recruits and experts on hand to provide all kinds of jobs, training and career advice. As a District Council it is important for us to help our residents and our businesses thrive and by bringing both groups together in our Job Fairs we aim to do just that."
Priyesh Patel, an advisor with the National Careers Service gave her thumbs-up to the events and said: "I have attended two jobs fairs with Blaby District Council and have spoken to lots of people who I have assisted with a range of support such as CV writing, interviews skills and course information. I’ve had a lot of positives helping and supporting people into work, learning and training.”
The Council offices on Desford Road, Narborough, feature free visitor car parking and are located close to Narborough train station as well as local bus route stops.
