Children's Support Service

Who is this service for?

Blaby’s children’s support service provides therapeutic support sessions and group work to children and young people aged 4-18 years old who live or attend school within Blaby District.

Support is for those children who have been impacted by domestic abuse, living in households where there as been issues around anti-social behaviour, or poor parental mental health.

It is important that children who access the service are no longer living with or witnessing domestic abuse.

Support sessions take place in a safe space in schools and other community venues allowing confidentiality whilst adhering to Child Protection policy.

The support is tailored to listening & understanding the child’s perspective.

Support offered:

  • Being an advocate and help their voice to be heard.
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Self-worth, self-esteem & confidence building
  • Understanding negative & positive behaviours
  • Coping mechanisms
  • Working with the parent to put plans in place
  • Multi-agency working to maximise support for the family
