Site Inspection Bookings

As part of the Building Regulations application process, we will make inspections at certain stages as work progresses.

You can book an inspection using our online booking service, or contact us using the form below. We will try to inspect on the same day if notified before 10 am.

Blaby Building Control Fees and Charges Increase Scheduled for the 1 October 2020

Please take note that the Councils Building Control section will be increasing its standard fees and charges for all domestic and non-domestic works with effect from the 1 October 2020.

A copy of these revised fees and charges will be available to view on the Councils website form the 1 October 2020 and will replace any other fees charges previously used and listed.

Any persons wishing to make enquiries about these proposed fee increases should address these enquiries in the first instance using the contact form below.

You will need to notify us when you reach the following stages of work:

  • Commencement
  • Excavation of foundations (before concreting)
  • Preparation of the ground floor
  • Drains as laid (prior to covering)
  • Drains on test
  • Occupation
  • Completion

We may require further notification at the following stages:

  • Intermediate (first and second) floor constructions in place
  • Roof carcassing in place
  • Pre-plaster
  • Electrical wiring installed or being installed (where Part P Electrician is not used)
  • Structural beams and columns (prior to covering)
