Interim Review of Polling Places and Polling Stations 2018 - Lubbesthorpe parish area

Blaby District Council has a duty to carry out a review every 5 years of all the polling districts, places and stations used for elections, to assess suitability and accessibility for all electors. The next full review will commence in the spring of 2019.

In the interim, it is necessary to conduct a review to allow for electors registered in the area of Lubbesthorpe to vote within their parish area in time for local elections, which are scheduled for May 2019. Historically, due to the makeup of the parish area and the low numbers of electors, voters travelled to Enderby village to cast their votes (or voted by post). Due to the current development within the Lubbesthorpe parish area and to enhance the community work that has commenced in the area, it is necessary to review the current arrangements.

At present, there are limited options for polling stations within the parish area, however in future years more permanent solutions will be sought.

If you wish to make observations or suggestions regarding either the suitability of the proposal or suggest alternative venues, please send in your comments by email to or to Electoral Services at the Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicestershire LE19 2EP. Please ensure that your responses are received by us no later than 12pm on Friday 28 December 2018.

Final proposals will be considered by full Council on 4th February 2019.
