F.O.I. ACT 2000 - Publication Scheme
If you have any problems accessing information on this site or you have any comments, please e-mail the Information
Management Officer.
What is the publication scheme?
The publication scheme is a complete guide to the information routinely published by Blaby District Council. It is not
a comprehensive list of the actual publications, since this will change as new documents are published, but rather it is a
description of the classes or types of information published, however wherever possible information that is available electronically
has been included.
Further informationa about specific service areas can be found under the AtoZ
guide, other documents and information can be found under the News
and Information Section.
How to find out more information about the scheme

Classes of Information
The Classes of information have been defined to cover broad areas, so you may find that the same information appears in
more than one class. This is quite deliberate and is intended to accommodate requests for the same information from more than
one perspective.
Certain documents, although not required by the Scheme, are included to assist in providing ease of access to information.
This information is annotated "Not part of Scheme" and could be accessed via a link to the website of a third party.
Note - Employees of the Council are known as Officers; Councillors are also known as Members of the Council, a term which
is often shortened to Members.
Fees and Charges
Any costs associated with the information in each class will be listed in the description. Some documents or information
types will have statutory charges which are applicable and must be paid prior to the release of information, wherever possible
links to electronic versions have been included.
Documents or information which are listed as free means that the public may download the information at home without charge.
If the requester asks the Council to photocopy/print and post that information, then reasonable disbursements to cover such
costs may be made.
Information Requests
If you would like to request any information not included in the publication scheme, please click on the link below and
complete the online request form. Please provide as much detail as possible about the information you require.
Please Note: Environmental Information is covered by the Environmental Information Regulations 2004, not
the Freedom of Information Act 2000. For example, environmental information could be that contained by Planning, Building
Control and Environmental Health.
