Council Tax Benefit

Council Tax Benefit ensures that people on low incomes get help towards paying their Council Tax and those in receipt of Income Support or Job-Seekers allowance (income based) will not have to pay any Council Tax for any complete week that they receive this state benefit. If there are other non-liable adults living in the household they are expected to make a contribution towards the household expenses and therefore a deduction is applied depending on their income.
