Local Transport Plan

Local Transport Plans (LTPs) are prepared by Highways Authorities not District Councils.  The main function of an LTP is to set out plans for traffic and transport in an area over a five year period.

The District of Blaby is covered by two LTPs.  The majority of the District is within the Central Leicestershire LTP, with the exception of Aston Flamville, Elmesthorpe, Potters Marston, Sapcote, Sharnford, Stoney Stanton, Thurlaston and Wigston Parva, which are covered by the Leicestershire LTP.

The current LTPs both cover the period 2001 - 2006.  Work has commenced on the review of these plans to cover the period 2006 - 2011.  The deadline for submission of the draft LTPs to Government is July 2005, followed by the final LTPs in March 2006.

For more information on LTPs, visit the County Council website.
