Crime & Disorder Strategies

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 introduced a new framework for tackling local crime and disorder problems which places an emphasis on listening to the views of local communities to find out their concerns about crime and disorder and to involve communities in addressing local community safety issues.

The Blaby District Partnership for Crime Reduction was set up in October 1998 to agree ways in which the District Council, the Police, County Council, other organisations and the local community can work together to further reduce crime and disorder in the District.

The Crime & Disorder Act requires the Partnership to carry out an audit and prepare a Crime & Disorder Strategy every 3 years. Below you will find information on both the 2002-2005 and 2005-2008 strategies. The later of the two will supercede the other after March 2005
