CCTV

The introduction of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has been one of the best weapons against crime. It has been proved effective in both cutting and detecting crime and because of this people now feel safer when they're out and about.

The Home Office states CCTV surveillance is particularly valuable when used as part of a wider crime reduction strategy, thus strengthening partnership with the local police.

Types of offence that CCTV are used to monitor include:

  • Criminal Damage/Vandalism
  • Car Park Security
  • Fly Tipping
  • Anti Social Behaviour

Below is a list of places within the District that are monitored by CCTV. In addition mobile CCTV cameras are also used. All areas that are monitored by CCTV are signposted. Footage is only made available to the defence, or police/court in case of prosection.

Enderby Leisure Centre, Council Offices - Narborough, The Depot - Littlethorpe, Blaby Town Centre Carparks
