Anti Social Behaviour
Anti-social behaviour can be defined as behaviour causing, or likely to cause a nuisance or annoyance to a person living
or visiting in the locality. Some examples of Anti Social Behaviour are:
- Intimidation and threatening language
- Criminal damage/vandalism
- Noise nuisance
- Harassment, including racism and homophobia
- Litter
- Writing graffiti
- Rowdy young people in groups
- Uncontrolled pets and animals
- Substance misuse
- Unkempt gardens/properties
- Riding motorcycles on footpaths
- Abandoned vehicles
Anti-social behaviour can have a significant impact on the quality of life of community members, and can result in
more serious crimes arising due to the neglected ‘look’ and ‘feel’ of a community.
Blaby District Council has a Community Safety Team that can offer Help, Support and Advice on all aspects of Anti Social
Behaviour. In 2004 alone the Community Safety Team (CST) successfully resolved 95% of all reports of Anti Social Behaviour.
