Anti Social Behaviour

Anti-social behaviour can be defined as behaviour causing, or likely to cause a nuisance or annoyance to a person living or visiting in the locality. Some examples of Anti Social Behaviour are:

  • Intimidation and threatening language
  • Criminal damage/vandalism
  • Noise nuisance
  • Harassment, including racism and homophobia
  • Litter
  • Writing graffiti
  • Rowdy young people in groups
  • Uncontrolled pets and animals
  • Substance misuse
  • Unkempt gardens/properties
  • Riding motorcycles on footpaths
  • Abandoned vehicles

Anti-social behaviour can have a significant impact on the quality of life of community members, and can result in more serious crimes arising due to the neglected ‘look’ and ‘feel’ of a community.

Blaby District Council has a Community Safety Team that can offer Help, Support and Advice on all aspects of Anti Social Behaviour. In 2004 alone the Community Safety Team (CST) successfully resolved 95% of all reports of Anti Social Behaviour. To find out more about the Community Safety Team please follow the link below.
