Planning - local plans
Summary
The
Current Development Plan for the District of Blaby includes several ‘saved’ policies of the Local Plan. Blaby District Council
adopted its Local Plan in 1999. The plan addressed a wide range of conservation and development issues and set out policies
on these matters. The Local plan, along with the Regional Plan and emerging LDF will provide the basis for making decisions
on planning applications.
All information regarding the Blaby District Local Plan can be found on the Planning Portal, accessed via the link below.
Further information
Legislation in 2004 introduced changes that required Local Councils to produce Local Development Frameworks instead of Local Plans. Notwithstanding this change, Local Councils were allowed to ‘save’ certain policies (if allowed by the Secretary of State) as part of the Development Plan. Blaby District Council was allowed to save some 100 of its Local Plan policies.
