Local development framework
Summary
The Local Development
Framework (LDF) will set out the blue print for how the District of Blaby will grow and Change up to 2026. The LDF will eventually
supersede the local plan (see related pages) as part of the Statutory development plan (and is made up of a series of documents
setting out the Council’s planning policies and land allocations which will provide the planning framework for consideration
of planning applications by the Council. They replace the previous system of plan making, which comprised Local Plans and
Structure Plans. Not withstanding this, the Coalition Government has indicated that it intends to implement a ‘radical review’
of the planning system.
The Council is consulting on the LDF Core Strategy (Submission Version) for a 6 week period starting on 19 January 2012. Representations must be received by 1 March 2012 (5.15pm). For more information visit the consultation page.
