Local development framework (LDF)
core strategy (submission version) front coverBlaby District Council is producing a document which is called the Local Development Framework Core Strategy. The Core strategy will shape the way the District grows and changes up to 2026. The Core Strategy sets out a vision, objectives and strategy for growth for the District of Blaby. In addition, it contains 21 spatial policies (including those relating to: location of new development; a new Sustainable Urban Extension and Strategic Employment Site; housing distribution amongst settlements; Blaby town centre and Fosse Park; and, Green Wedges).

The views of residents, businesses and others with an interest in the spatial planning process are being sought between July 30th 2009 and September 10th 2009.

The Core Strategy (submission version) represents the preferred strategy of the Council. The submission version consultation is an opportunity for interested parties to make formal representations to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, which will be considered as part of the examination process of the Core Strategy. The Core Strategy (submission version) and accompanying Sustainability Appraisal is available for viewing above. An electronic response form is available for you to complete.

Whilst paper copies will be accepted, Blaby District Council strongly advise that respondents use the electronic response form in the interests of saving paper and ease of recording representations. An electronic receipt will be sent with all responses.

Representations should be received no later than 10th September 2009.
