The Communications team prepare and issue press releases and statements on behalf of executive members and departments ensuring the Council's news is effectively targeted. We provide professional advice on media-handling issues, prepare communication strategies for key initiatives and organise interviews, photo calls and press conferences. In addition, we ensure communication with the media is kept within the law. The team monitors press coverage, alerting members and departments to stories running in the media. In the first instance all calls from the media are directed to the Communications Team, we issue all Council press releases.
