Volunteer Rangers
Blaby District Council's Volunteer Rangers regularly patrol all of the Countryside Recreation Areas. These patrols help
monitor any maintenance problems and promote an effective and efficient response to issues.
The presence of Volunteer Rangers can be a very reassuring sight for visitors to the countryside. Knowing that there is
someone there to answer your questions, or help to solve any problems encourages visitors to venture out and visit sites they
are not familiar with.
Patrolling also gives the Volunteer Rangers the opportunity to keep a protective eye on our local wildlife. Being aware
of what is present and where it is located helps us to protect it.
They also carry out maintenance work on the sites from mending fencing, repairing river banks, clearing ponds, picking
litter and woodland work. If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Ranger then call the Countryside Officer on 0116 272
7699 for more information.
