Planning - environmental considerations
Summary
The Development Plan should have environmental (along with social and economic) considerations at its heart.
The Local Development Framework (LDF) should seek to balance these often competing objectives so that the needs of future
generations are not compromised by decisions taken today.
In order to achieve this, the Council's evidence base has addressed a number of key environmental issues. In addition, Sustainability Appraisals (SA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) will be carried out at key stages of the LDF process.
Further information
All key stages of the LDF process have been accompanied by SEA and SA. The Council has worked closely with SA experts at White young Green to ensure that sustainability issues have been fully considered and that SA requirements have been met.
