                           assistanceThe local authority provides support and assistance to residents who are vulnerable or victims of a crime. One of the schemes that Blaby District Community Safety Partnership is running is the “Home Security Scheme” which could help you make your property more safe and secure.

How to apply for the Home Security Scheme

  1. To qualify for the free service you need to be a resident of the district, and fit in to certain vulnerable groups to check what these are or if you qualify see the details below.
    • Are you an older person who is worried about home safety or security? Do you know of an older family member, friend or neighbour, who may need this service?
    • The under 60’s scheme is for vulnerable residents of the district such as victims of domestic violence.

The project is open to vulnerable individuals who are both over and under 60 years of age, the scheme will arrange for the supply and fitting of security products free of charge to resident’s homes.

Working in partnership with Leicester City Council, Adults and Housing and Renewal and Grants Department the scheme will be securing the homes of vulnerable people, to reduce the risk of loss through burglary and providing peace of mind by reducing their fear of crime.
