Are you one of 5oo pensioners within Blaby District Council who are in receipt of Pension Credit and not in receipt of
Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit?
If so and you think you may qualify please contact the Benefits Section by telephone at Blaby District Council on 0116
272 7510 (before 1.00pm) and request an application form. Alternatively you can visit the offices in person at: The Council
Offices, Desford Road, Narborough Mon to Thurs 8.45-5.15 Fri 8.45-4.45 The Joint Service Shop, Leicester Road, Blaby Mon to
Fri 9.15-5.15 Fri 9.15-4.45 The Civic Centre, Kingsway, Braunstone Town Mon to Fri 9.00-4.00.
If you are a disabled person or would have difficulty completing an application form, and have no one else to act on your
behalf, we can arrange for one of our visiting officers to come and see you in your own home.
Information on Applying for Pension Credits
The pension service is part of the department for Works and Pensions. It is dedicated to meeting the needs of pensioners.
In delivering your your pension entitlements, we will make every effort to keep the promise we make to you. We aim to make
sure that every pensioner receives his or her full and correct Retirement Pension and Pension credit entitlement on time.
We also provide information about a wide range of support services that may be of interest to you, and work with other organisations
to make sure you get the information you want, when you need it most.

Council Tax Benefit Council Tax benefit ensures that people on a low income get help towards their Council Tax. If there
other non-liable adults living in the household they are expected to make a contribution towards the household expenses and
therefore a deduction is applied depending on their income.
