Housing
Blaby District Council transferred their housing stock to Three Oaks Homes in November 2008. Although the council no longer
own any housing stock we remain committed to housing in the district. We work with housing associations and other agencies
to provide affordable housing and to ensure the quality of housing in the district is maintained.
Our Housing Service is divided into four areas: Strategic Housing, Housing Options, Private Sector Housing and Community
Safety. Between them they are responsible for:
- maintaining the Housing Register
- assessing housing need
- supporting new affordable housing
- exploring all housing options to try and resolve difficult housing situations
- preventing homelessness
- providing support for homeless people
- providing good quality housing advice
- promoting domestic energy efficiency
- helping the disabled and older people with repairs and adaptations
- ensuring housing is free from serious hazards and in good repair
- dealing with anti social behaviour
- supporting victims of domestic violence
- developing housing strategies
