Paint Recycling

with Community Paint-Pot!

The Council operates a paint recycling scheme where Householders can donate their unwanted paint* at any of the sites listed below.

The paint is collected from these sites and taken to a storage location where it is sorted ready for re-use.

The paint is then made available to any charity, community or voluntary group, completely free of charge!

Collection Sites

Whetstone Household Waste and Recycling Centre
Enderby Road
Whetstone
Leicester

* We are only able to accept emulsion and gloss paint, and the tin would need to be at least 1/3 full. Please note that we cannot accept thinners, paint stripper, aerosols, special industrial paints or old paint which cannot be re-used. If there is only a small quantity of paint in the tin which you need to dispose of, you can leave the tin with the lid open (in a well ventilated area) until the paint has dried completely then dispose of it in your normal household refuse bin/bag with the lid sealed. PLEASE DO NOT PUT TINS/CONTAINERS WITH ANY QUANTITY OF WET PAINT IN YOUR REFUSE BIN/BAG.
