At each site there are bottle banks for green, clear and brown glass. Only glass bottles and jars should be placed into the banks. Items such as plates, cups, ceramics, pyrex, plate glass etc SHOULD NOT be put into the banks.
If you have blue bottles they should be placed into the green bottle banks.

Cans

The cans banks are able to take steel and aluminium food tins and drinks cans. Please rinse out if possible. The labels can be left on. Once the can banks have been emptied they are taken to a sorting facility and split into the steel and aluminium components. The cans are then baled and sent for reprocessing.

Textiles

The textile banks are provided by two charities, either Oxfam or The Salvation Army. The banks can accept clothes and shoes that are clean and dry. Anything that is not able to be taken to a shop or sent abroad as clothing is used for 'filling and flock'. This is filling for furniture, cushions, car seats etc. In times of emergencies abroad, container loads of clothes are sent off and in recent times this has been to Angola, Bosnia, Mozambique. So don't throw away those old clothes, sheets, curtains, and other textiles; recycle them!!
