Trade waste collection service

The Council can provide a number of bins in different sizes for commercial waste.

Blaby District Council offers a Trade Waste collection & disposal service for dry waste to businesses throughout the district. The Council provides a regular and efficient collection and ensures safe and effective disposal of waste. We also offer a collection of clinical waste by referral through the district nurse.

We provide a range of containers to cater for all requirements, with charges varying according to the size of container provided and frequency of collection. Charges include container rental/cost of sacks, collection charges and disposal costs and start from as little as £1.35 per collection excluding VAT.

We provide BDC Trade Sacks for businesses not suitable for wheeled containers, and can provide the following wheeled containers:

1100 LITRE EUROBIN

Should we be unable to collect the refuse for any reason i.e. no access, we will make every effort to contact the customer and collect within 24 hours. Please contact our Environmental Health team on telephone number 0116 27 27 555 if you experience any problems with our Trade Waste Collection service. We will also advise you in advance of any changes to your collection day, should rescheduling be made necessary by Bank Holidays.

The Council invoices quarterly in advance for this service. If you wish to have extra refuse collected occasionally, this can be arranged by either contacting the office on telephone number 0116 27 27 555 or with the refuse crew when they arrive and we will invoice you for this shortly after the collection. For your convenience, this is available on an 'as and when required' basis.

We provide out service users with 'Duty of Care Transfer Notes' which are required annually in accordance with Section 34 (1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

At present our recycling services offered to businesses are restricted to glass collections, however, we are planning to extend this service to include paper and cardboard towards the end of this year.

Should you have any further queries or require further details of the service provided and charges made, please contact us on telephone number 0116 27 27 555.
