Further information
Blaby District Council offers a trade waste collection and disposal service for dry waste to businesses throughout the district. The Council provides a regular and efficient collection and ensures safe and effective disposal of waste. We also offer a collection of clinical waste by referral through the district nurse.
We provide a range of containers to cater for all requirements, with charges varying according to the size of container provided and frequency of collection. Charges include container rental/cost of sacks, collection charges and disposal costs. Prices start from as little as £1.35 per collection, excluding VAT.
We can also provide BDC trade sacks for businesses not suitable for wheeled containers.
Should we be unable to collect the refuse for any reason, i.e. no access, we will make every effort to contact the customer and collect within 24 hours. Please contact our Waste Hotline on the number below if you experience any problems with our trade waste collection service. We will also advise you in advance of any changes to your collection day, should rescheduling be necessary, i.e. Bank Holidays.
The Council invoices quarterly in advance for this service. If you wish to have extra refuse collected occasionally, this can be arranged by either contacting the Waste Hotline or with the collection crew when they arrive. We will invoice you for this shortly after the collection. For your convenience this is available on an ‘as and when required’ basis.
We provide all our service users with ‘Duty of Care Transfer Notes’ which are required annually in accordance with Section 34 (1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
In addition to trade waste, we also provide a trade recycling collection of glass; and paper and card. For further details of this service please see the leaflet above.
