Existing Local Plan
The current Local Plan was adopted in September 1999 and sets out the planning policies and proposals for how land in Blaby
District is used and developed in the period 1991 to 2006.
In accordance with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, Blaby District Council is required to prepare a Local
Development Framework which will, in stages, replace the current Local Plan. More information available on the Local

Local Plan Written Statement
The adopted Blaby District Local Plan, Written Statement, Policies and Appendices, is now available on the Planning
Portal web site (written statement only). Hard copies are available for purchase from the District Council at a cost of
£70.00 (plus postage). Residents of Blaby District can purchase the Local Plan for £35.00 (plus postage). Please click on

On 21st September 2007 the Secretary of State issued a Direction containing a schedule of those policies of the adopted
Blaby District Local Plan, which retain Development Plan status after 27th September 2007. These policies will continue to
be the basis upon which planning applications will be determined, until such time as they are superseded by policies within
LDF documents.
Policies of the Blaby District Local Plan not listed in the Direction are no longer part of the Development Plan.

Portal web site. Hard copies are available for purchase from Blaby District Council at a cost of £30.00. Cheques should

Supplementary Planning Guidance
Blaby District Council adopted Supplementary Planning Guidance for Affordable Housing on the 28th February
