Public Access provides details of current planning applications which are constantly updated as well as historic ones and allows comments on current applications to be submitted on line.

Planning and Development Services are responsible for managing a range of planning and other functions for the authority. To undertake these duties the department is divided into the following sections.

Section	Main Responsibilities
Planning Policy	Responsible for the Blaby District Local Plan and the Blaby District Local Development Framework. The Planning Policy Team also prepares information on residential and employment land development in the District as well as responding to consultations on planning policy documents. The section is also responsible for Economic Development.
Development Control	Processing planning and other applications and general advice on planning matters
Conservation and Design	Conservation Areas, Listed Buildings and Tree Preservation Orders
Enforcement	Investigating complaints about building work, changes of use of buildings and land, and monitoring planning conditions

Planning Portal

Planning applications can be submitted to the Council online via the Planning Portal.

In addition, a vast range of information and advice on planning related topics is available on the Planning Portal web site.

Highways

Help and advice regarding highways, roads, public footpaths, countryside access and public rights of way can be found in the Transport and streets section of this site. However, please note that all 'Highway' functions within Blaby District are undertaken by Leicestershire County Council.
