Book Lice
Booklice do not normally feed directly on
human foodstuffs and do not usually occur in significant numbers unless conditions allow for mould and fungal development,
which means high humidity. Due to the very wide spread nature of book lice it is often difficult to distinguish whether they
were present in the foodstuffs from the factory or shop, have entered the packets in the domestic larder or came from another
source such as transport, pallets or packaging materials.
Infected foodstuffs should be disposed of
and storage cupboards should be treated with an approved residual spray.
