Dogs - microchipping

Summary

MicrochippingMicrochipping provides a permanent, inexpensive form of identification that cannot be lost, altered, or intentionally removed. The process is quick and painless and can help ensure a happy reunion.

Microchips are no bigger than a grain of rice and are inserted under the skin between the dog's shoulder blades. Each microchip has a unique identification number that is never duplicated. Once implanted it can be scanned to find the details of the pet’s home and owner.

The Dog Warden Services offers microchipping sessions on the first Tuesday of every month. Morning appointments are available at the Joint Service Shop at Forge Corner, Blaby. Afternoon appointments are available at the Main Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough.

Mobile microchipping events are also available throughout the Summer.
