Dog trainingThe Dog Wardens recommend that any person acquiring a new dog, whether it be a puppy or an older dog, speak to their local authority or veterinary surgeon to obtain details of local training / socialisation classes.

The Dog Wardens can offer general training advice and also advice in respect of specific behaviour problems. This may include advice over the phone, via email, or a home visit. We also have a variety of training aids available for purchase or rent.

How do I request dog training advice?

  1. Contact us by e-mail, telephone, online form or by coming into the Main Council offices or;
  2. Coming along to the monthly training advice clinic;
  3. Information we will need from you:
    1. your full name;
    2. your full address including your postcode;
    3. your home telephone number and a number which we can contact you on during normal office hours if this is different;
    4. details of the dog and the problems you are encountering;

How do I purchase a dog training aid?

  1. Contact us by e-mail, telephone, online form or by coming into the Main Council offices or;
  2. Coming along to the monthly training advice clinic;

Further information

The Dog Warden Services offers training and advice sessions on the first Tuesday of every month. Morning sessions are available at the Joint Service Shop at Forge Corner, Blaby. Afternoon sessions are available at the Main Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough.

If you are unable to attend one of the advice clinics or would prefer a home visit, please contact us to arrange an appointment.
