Equalities and Diversity
Introduction
At Blaby District Council equal opportunities has always been a key part of our overall corporate values and aims, which
means providing the same level of high quality, customer focused services for all people regardless of their gender, race,
disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief.
We are determined to further develop our equalities and diversity agenda, not just to meet our increasing statutory responsibilities
in this area but because it is fundamental to our aim of delivering excellence and continuous improvement in all our services.
To help us achieve our aims the Council has recently produced a new Corporate Equality and Diversity Policy. The policy
provides an up to date and comprehensive framework for all our equalities work and in particular for the development of more
specific statutory equalities schemes.
To keep our employees, residents and other stakeholders informed of our ongoing equalities work we will publish all relevant
documents and related information on both our own internal Intranet and external website. We will also use these sites for
consultation purposes.
