How to Pay
Your Council Tax is payable by monthly instalments and the payment dates are shown on your bill. You must pay each instalment
by the date shown and there are several methods that you can use to make payments.
Direct Debit
Paying by Direct Debit is the easiest and most convenient way to pay if you have a bank/building society account. There
are no cheques to write, no postage and no queuing, just a signature and you can leave the rest to your bank or building society.
If you wish to pay by direct debit please complete the online form and return is to Blaby District Council.

Direct Debit Guarantee
The guarantee is offered by all Banks and Building Societies that take part in the Direct Debit Scheme. The efficiency
and security of the scheme is monitored and protected by your own Bank or Building Society. If the amounts to be paid or
the payment dates change, Blaby District Council will notify you 14 days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise
agreed. If an error is made by Blaby District Council or your Bank or Building Society, your are guaranteed a full and immediate
refund from your branch of the amount paid.
Your can cancel a direct debit at any time by writing to your Bank or Building Society. Please forward a copy of your letter
to the Revenues Section.
Standing Order
If you wish to pay by Standing Order, contact your bank and quote the Council's bank details:-

Cheque
Cheques should be made payable to Blaby District Council and sent together with your instalment voucher, or by quoting
your account referrence number, to Blaby District Council, Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough, Leicester, LE19 2EP.
Cash, or in Person
Payments may be made in person, by cash, cheque, debit or credit card at the Council Offices, Desford Road, Narborough
between 9.15am and 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday and between 9.15am and 4.15pm on Friday. Payment may also be made at the Braunstone
Civic Centre, Kingsway, Braunstone Town or at the Blaby Joint Service Shop, Forge Corner, Blaby between 9.30am and 1.30pm
Monday to Friday.
Kiosk
The cash handling kiosk, situated at the Braunstone Civic Centre is available whenever the Centre is open. The machine
accepts notes and coins and gives change.
Debit or Credit Cards
Payments may be made by Debit or Credit card in person as detailed above, or by telephone. To make a payment by telephone,
contact our 24hour automated telephone service on 0116 272 7722. However, if you prefer to speak to a member of staff, telephone
0116 272 7530 during normal office hours.
Please note that a charge of 1.5% is payable on CREDIT card transactions over £50.
Bank or Post Office
Using the bank giro credit form, found in the payment instalment booklet. There may be a delay in your payment being credited
to your Council Tax account and therefore you should allow seven working days to ensure payment is received by the Council
on the due date.
A charge may be made by the Bank or Post Office which must be paid by you and NOT deducted from your payment.
