The Head of Administration & Legal Services is Mrs Kris Johnston

This division provides administrative and legal services to the Council and supports the democratic process.

  • Members' services
  • Monitoring Officer
  • Emergency Plan Maintenance and Support
  • Complaints to the Council
  • Complaints to the Ombudsman
  • Annual Compilation of the Register of Electors
  • Rolling Registration amendments
  • Postal & Proxy Voting
  • Conduct of European, Parliamentary and Local Government Elections
  • General and Specialist legal advice in relation to the full range of Council functions
  • Property Transactions, including
  • Service of Statutory Notices, Requisitions and Orders
  • Quasi judicial issues (including bylaws)
  • Management of Industrial Units
  • Replies to Local Land Charges search requests
  • Registration of Local Land Charges
  • Central purchasing of stationery, furniture and office equipment
  • Facilities for Personal Searches
  • Central provision of corporate printing and mail
  • Clerical/typing support to the Administration and Legal Service
