Leicestershire
County Council (LCC) is the Minerals Authority for the District of Blaby. LCC has produced a Minerals Local Plan for the County
(including Blaby) which sets out the minerals policies and proposals for the County.
Leicestershire County Council has begun preparing a Minerals Development Framework which will supersede the Minerals Local Plan Blaby District Council is consulted on the document and will participate in its production where appropriate. In addition, Blaby District Council is consulted on planning applications for minerals development.

In preparing its Local Development Framework, Blaby District Council must consider the content of adopted and emerging Minerals Plans produced by Leicestershire County Council.
